St. James's Place Foundation
Supporting Hospices
The Foundation is pleased to support hospices in the United Kingdom.
However, we do not invite applications from individual hospices.
How we have helped before?
Cotswold Care Hospice was founded in 1988 by a group of health professionals concerned about the lack of palliative care in the region. The services offered by the charity are: 3 day a week day care, 1 day a week specialist groups (bereavement, multiple sclerosis), specialist outpatient clinics, carer support, lymphoedema clinic, alternative therapies, education centre, hospice at home service.
In November 2010 the Foundation awarded a grant of £110,760 to cover the salary costs of a specialist palliative nurse over two years, working on their Hospice at Home service. The service provides home care for those at the end stage of their illness. 96% of the care is provided at night time when the other agencies, such as district nursing and community specialist nursing are unavailable.
