Organisations We Support

Set out below are some of the charities that St. James's Place Foundation has supported and continues to support:

Hope & Homes for Children is a UK charity that provides support homes for children orphaned by war or disaster in Eastern Europe and Africa. The Foundation has supported Hope and Homes for Children for the last ten years and our funding together with money raised by individuals and within the Company's offices, resulted in more than £3 million being given to HHC by the end of 2008. CIDA, a University in South Africa run by the students, has implemented formal programmes which require students to give back to their home community. The Foundation and individual Partners and employees have sponsored 99 students on three year degree courses. To view the CIDA website, click here.

The Foundation has donated over £440,000 to fund patient technology in three of Teenage Cancer Trust's specialist units - Birmingham Children's Hospital, St. James's in Leeds and The Royal Marsden in Surrey. Cancer in Teenagers has a distinctive pattern; they can contract some of the most aggressive cancers which are often made worse by growth spurts. The 6 teenagers diagnosed with cancer everyday in the UK need specialist care because of the rarity of the tumours they get and the particular psychological and social problems they experience. The St. James's Place Foundation donated £1.2 million to The Children's Trust to fund the building of a specialist Hydrotherapy Centre for children with acquired brain injuries. The centre provides water therapy to relieve pain and help children improve their mobility, posture, balance and coordination. The specialist facility will ensure that everyone of the 250 children helped by the Trust each year will experience the life changing benefits of Hydrotherapy.
