The Loughborough Fast Swimming programme is the most successful training programme in the country, with many of the UK's leading swimmers training there. Indeed, all of the medals attained by the Team GB men's team at the 2010 European Championships in Hungary were won by Loughborough swimmers.
Since our relationship started in 2007, the team have medalled in all major UK and International events including European, Commonwealth and World Championships as well as the Beijing Olympics in 2008. The team also boasts two World Record holders in the form of Liam Tancock for the 50m backstroke and Joanne Jackson in the 400m freestyle short course.
With the intensification of effort in the period leading up to the 2012 Olympic Games in London, the support of St. James's Place will also enable the squad to receive additional coaching. This support will enable more swimmers to access the already popular programme and give them increased one to one time and more individually tailored programmes. Having this support really makes a difference.
This means that young competitive swimmers will be given greater opportunities to follow their Olympic dream using the Loughborough experience as a stepping-stone to success.
