The St. James’s Place Academy are delighted to welcome 28 individuals in May who have all decided to begin a new career in financial advice and join our national Academy Training Programme.
They will now embark on a period of leading training, knowledge and skills development that will help to equip them with everything that they need to be able to deliver high quality advice and to create long-term relationships with new Clients. The average age of the group is 35, which is considerably lower than the average age of Financial Advisers across the UK. This reflects our determination to train and support brand new talent for the advice profession and service the growing need for high quality and trusted advice.
13 of the individuals have joined from a non-financial services background from careers such as teaching and the sports industry. Many have decided to launch their own financial advice businesses with us, while others will join one of our established Partner businesses within the St. James’s Place Partnership. They will add to the country’s largest community of qualified advice professionals.
We ask the individuals – why – why did you decide to become a Financial Adviser? “I decided to make this career change because I want to ensure that my family and friends have a financially stable and secure future”, responds one.
We also asked them what successful attributes they see in themselves? The four most popular responses were resilience, integrity, trustworthiness, and a desire to positively help others in achieving their future goals: all of which, we believe, are important to building a career as a successful Financial Adviser.
We wish the group the best of luck on their journey to the St. James’s Place Partnership.
Do you consider yourself having any of those four attributes for success? If you’re thinking about beginning a new career in financial advice, please get in touch to hear how we can support you.
