St. James’s Place is delighted to learn that one of our Academists, Craig Morrison, has been recognised by the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) for his excellent performance in the completion of the R04 Pensions and retirement planning exam, and is one of two joint winners who have been awarded the CII’s 2020 Layborn Prize. The other winner was Paul Brady who is based in SJP Asia (Hong Kong).
Craig joined the London Academy in May 2019 after 30 years working in large corporations. He’d been made redundant and was looking for a new challenge, something that would enable him to help others but to also keep learning as well as give him freedom over his own time.
“I met one of the Academy’s Engagement Managers at a careers event and she introduced me to the SJP Academy. Having been a SJP client for 10 years, I was already impressed by the company but how could they possibly turn me into a financial adviser?
The Academy offered me a well-structured programme with a track record of success - designed with career change in mind; as a result, it provided the right balance of support and autonomy. I had access to experts throughout: industry leading trainers, exam support and informed and experienced mentors to teach the soft skills. In addition, sharing the experience with a cohort of similar minded people, who can learn from as well as support each other, was invaluable both during the programme and beyond.”
