For the fifth year in a row, we held the first of our two graduation ceremonies for 2019.

We celebrated 61 individuals who have graduated into a new career of financial advice and financial planning. We welcomed 39 qualified advisers, in addition to 22 Diploma qualified paraplanners.

A graduation ceremony represents the culmination of a period of hard work to attain a certain level of education or profession. The Academy is delighted to be able to share some moments of our most recent Graduation Ceremony at the London Guildhall in London.

The Academy continues to breathe new life into the profession by giving individuals the opportunity to undergo thorough training before being offered the chance to become wealth advice professionals or paraplanners within the St. James’s Place Partnership.

Academy candidates come from a wide range of backgrounds and are often people looking for a career change or a new challenge. Leading the way in the financial adviser sphere in terms of gender and age, 25% of all people to have joined the Academy programme since its inception are women. At just 37, the average age of graduates is significantly lower than the average across the industry.

With three different career programmes available, the Academy currently has over 400 people actively working towards qualifying as a wealth advice professional. Since 2012, the Academy has supported almost 500 individuals through its programme, providing the expert training necessary to deliver top-quality advice to clients for years to come.
