Last year, St. James’s Place launched a partnership with Kaleidoscope which aims to foster inclusivity and support diversity within the financial advice profession. As part of this initiative, the St. James’s Place Financial Adviser Academy is committed to train up to 10 individuals with disabilities to become financial advisers in 2023.

Head of Academy Andy Payne says: “We are committed to providing a welcoming home for talented advisers, regardless of their background or circumstance, and whatever restrictions or challenges they may face.

“The Academy is not limited by geographical location, which enables our new advisers to shape their own way of learning. We have created a far more accessible and inclusive environment for recruits.

“This will ultimately lead to better outcomes for our clients.”

As part of this initiative, the Academy hosted an event on 1st August 2023 alongside Kaleidoscope to explore career opportunities for people with disabilities. Attendees explored the comprehensive training support available, and heard success stories from existing SJP advisers with disabilities.

By providing tailored training programmes and professional development opportunities, this collaborative effort between SJP and Kaleidoscope seeks to bridge the gap and break down barriers surrounding disability. It demonstrates the commitment of both organisations to creating a level playing field for all aspiring financial advisers, as well as a workforce that is made up of people with different experiences, points of view, characteristics, and strengths so we can best serve client’s evolving needs.
