It’s been a continuous problem for the wealth management sector for decades. How do we attract more young talent into the financial advice profession? If anyone’s interested, where do they go to find out more? How do they know if it’s a profession that will suit them? And how do they find an entry level role that puts them on the right career path? Solving these issues requires different thinking. It requires coming together and joining forces.

We are thrilled to announce the launch of ‘Future Financial Adviser’, a joint initiative with Money Marketing, in collaboration with M&G Wealth, Quilter and other supporting partners.

Future Financial Adviser offers a dynamic platform designed to attract, engage, and inform individuals aged 17–25 about career opportunities in financial advice, while also supporting current professionals in their career advancement.

Centred on fostering a sense of community, Future Financial Adviser empowers young individuals to explore the financial advice profession, aligning their talents with organisations that can facilitate their career inception and growth.

Andy Payne, Head of St. James’s Place Financial Adviser Academy, shared:

“Future Financial Adviser focuses on enlightening young individuals about the significance of financial advice. With the UK facing a growing demand for financial advice, we estimate a need for approximately 50,000 new financial advisers. The initiatives of FFA are crucial in motivating and preparing the forthcoming generation, and we are proud to contribute. Our goal at St. James’s Place is to establish an 'Academy for All'—a leading programme that embraces and cultivates new talent from all walks of life.”

Given the anticipated shortfall of 50,000 advisers in the next decade coupled with rising demand, there has never been a more opportune moment to embark on a career in financial advice.
