Moor House School & College in Oxted has become the second school to be accredited as a Centre of Excellence (CoE) for financial education, part of St. James’s Place’s commitment to financial education through its partnership with national charity Young Enterprise.
SJP’s partnership with Young Enterprise aims to support education providers across the country – including primary, secondary schools and colleges for those with special education needs - on their accreditation journey to becoming a CoE for financial education. The school’s accreditation means that they have been able to evidence that they have successfully embedded financial education across their curriculum.
Since the partnership began at the end of 2022, 18 SJP-funded schools have so far signed up to the accreditation process. The partnership equips academic staff with the support, tools and resources needed to help build the financial confidence of pupils and embed financial education across the school’s curriculum.
Two years on from the start of the partnership, Moor House, a specialist school for children who have significant language and/or speech disorders has become the second school to reach the landmark status of a CoE for financial education, after Tonge Moor Primary Academy in Bolton completed the process last year. Through completing the accreditation, Moor House has continued to demonstrate the school’s commitment to financial education as a core part of the curriculum giving students the appropriate skills, they need to make the most of their money and to safeguard their financial wellbeing.
