St. James’s Place has launched the roll-out of its award-winning SJP House App to the wider business, following its successful introduction through the Academy.
The Learning and Development app already powers Term Two of the Academy programme and access has now been extended to everyone within SJP, including employees and Partners. Using bitesize digital content in a Netflix-style box set format, the SJP House App is available from all devices and includes peer-to-peer learning, virtual and face-to-face events, as well as access to accreditation content and exams.
The team has also been at the forefront of utilising Virtual Reality technology to create realistic VR scenarios and varied characters with different challenges, to simulate the experience of being a financial adviser to new Academy recruits.
Since its phase two launch throughout the business in January, four in five employees, those in the Academy and Partners are now enrolled with the House App, with almost 2,500 accreditations achieved for exams. Among the most searched current topics are long term care, protection, information security and financial education.
Di Macdonald, SJP’s Director of Learning & Development, said: "SJP House enhances all learning activity through a blended approach, whether online or face-to-face. The bespoke digital platform allows us to create social learning opportunities, building communities of people with similar interests and offering relevant content that applies to all roles and journeys in SJP. This means that users own their personal development and learn at their own pace, at a time that suits.
“Some of the technologies we are using have the power to transform the way organisations work and communicate - better quality, more affordable and easier to use. But we ensure we never use tech for tech’s sake, and always use it to enhance and compliment best practice.”
SJP House has also been recognised with a Gold win for the Best People Development Programme at the recent Learning Awards.
“Winning the Gold Learning Award is fantastic recognition for the Academy programme and the company's commitment to developing future financial advisers. We are helping to provide them with opportunities for growth and advancement, while creating a supportive and collaborative work environment that fosters development.”
New features for the House app include new Netflix inspired carousels of content, a dedicated accreditation and exams area, audience specific prompts with targeted content, plus improved search functionality and notifications. It is also being integrated into other digital social learning platforms, such as eSwapp, and HulerHub. Planned additional content areas includes Partner-specific classes, dedicated podcast platform and commercial skills.
More information about the roadmap for SJP’s House App is available on the latest podcast episode of “Every day’s a school day” on Spotify.
