SJP What is ongoing advice?
Ongoing financial advice means your St. James’s Place (SJP) adviser regularly reviews your financial plan to make sure it works for you.
When you become a client of St. James’s Place, or one of our Partner firms, your adviser helps you create a plan for your money. This collaboration is based on your situation at the time, goals for the future, needs and attitude to risk.
As personal circumstances change, needs and attitudes to risk also shift. Look at the change of priorities that happens as children grow or marriages start, or end.
External circumstances, such as the economic climate, can also create uncertainty and the need to pivot expectations and plans.
This is why regular reviews are key. This is ongoing advice.
Your financial adviser reviews your plan to make sure it’s still working for you. They check how your investments are performing, and whether you’re on track for the future you want.
Ongoing advice means you have someone to speak to whenever something unexpected happens, or you have a question about your finances.
“95% of people who receive ongoing professional advice say it helps them stay on track with their goals.”

SJP's approach offers the best of both worlds
Over a million clients trust us to help them navigate a complex turbulent world so they can live their lives with confidence, now and in the future.
SJP Partner Practices and their advisers guide clients through the choices that make this possible, supported by the scale and strength of SJP.

St. James’s Place guarantees the suitability of advice given by members of the St. James’s Place Partnership when recommending any of the wealth management products and services available from companies in the group. More details of which are set out here.
Clients value our advice because they get:
The value of an investment with St. James's Place will be directly linked to the performance of the funds you select and the value can therefore go down as well as up. You may get back less than you invested.
Clients not receiving ongoing financial advice
If you’re not receiving ongoing advice from an SJP Partner, your money will remain invested. You’ll still pay your fund charge (for the management of your investments) and your product charge (for the administration of your account).
However, your SJP Partner is no longer reviewing your financial plan or making sure it is still suitable for you.
If you are a client not receiving ongoing financial advice and want to make changes to your investments or take money out, just call 0800 027 1031. Our administration centre can support basic transactions such as fund switches and withdrawals but cannot provide financial advice. Without access to an adviser, any decisions you make will not be reviewed for suitability against your wider financial circumstances.
