Formed in 1992, the St. James’s Place Charitable Foundation is the philanthropic arm of the St. James's Place Group.
The Foundation has always been a very special part of the St. James’s Place business and its continued growth demonstrates clearly how special to everyone it truly is and epitomises the founding principle on which it was formed ‘to give back to those less fortunate and make a positive and lasting difference to people’s lives

The majority of our grant making is based on UK charities with approximately 14% being allocated to charities overseas. We focus our funding on four main themes, shown below, with the aim of supporting substantive and transformational change for the charities we fund and their beneficiaries, so that we can facilitate positive and lasting change in communities.
We aim to make a positive and lasting difference to people’s lives and supporting young people is still our largest area of focus. We look to support young people up to the ages of 25 who are socially or economically disadvantaged or mentally/physically disabled.
We award funding to organisations who provide practical and emotional support to people with all kinds of cancer across the UK. These organisations are a lifeline not just to the patient but to a wider network of friends and family, making a big difference to the quality of life for all affected.
The Foundation supports both strategic development of services through their partnership with Hospice UK, (the umbrella organisation for the hospice movement supporting over 200 independent hospices throughout the country) and local service delivery to hospices across the UK helping to maintain and increase service delivery.
The Foundation has focused on developing both national and local mental health support provision to increase access to support for those struggling with their mental health.
